High Noon

A colourful "fun pool" outside Berlin. A children's carousel making its lonely rounds in front of the luxury Savoy Hotel in Florence, the Gran Via boulevard in Madrid, photographed standing amidst the masses of snow pushed together , the check-in hall of Terminal 5 at London's HEATHROW Airport - completely devoid of passengers and ground staff.

The dystopian cityscapes from the pandemic period by photographer and artist Julian Kirschler show European cities that are very busy in normal times - but here completely without people or vehicles. Julian Kirschler has been working on the group of works comprising over 300 photographs since March 2020. At the beginning of 2022, further new works from Paris and Amsterdam have been added.
