High Noon
A colourful „fun pool“ outside Berlin. A children's merry-go-round making its lonely rounds in front of the luxury Savoy Hotel in Florence, the magnificent Gran Via avenue in Madrid, photographed standing in the midst of a mass of snow, the check-in hall of Terminal 5 at London's HEATHROW airport - completely devoid of passengers and ground staff.
The dystopian cityscapes from the pandemic period by photographer and artist Julian Kirschler show busy European cities in normal times - but here without any people at all. Julian Kirschler has been working on the group of over 300 photographs since March 2020. Further new works from Paris and Amsterdam were added at the beginning of 2022. In 2025, a new collaboration with a New York photographer will add motifs from New York to the group of works for the first time.
